Do Little Things Well

I’m always looking for keys to success. There is nothing more enjoyable than the feeling of accomplishment. Learning tidbits for success has really helped me.
Years ago, a successful friend of mine gave me this key insight. I’ve never forgotten it and I’ve learned it’s true. I happily pass it along to you.
He advised me to make sure I do little things well. Accomplishing big things is the result of doing lots of little things well over time.
The Bible instructs God’s followers not to despise the days of small beginnings (Zechariah 4:10). Jesus said that if you are faithful over a little, then he will entrust you to oversee more (Luke 16:10).
But you must be faithful with the little. And often it’s not easy.
Small beginnings can receive much resistance and little encouragement. Often you start with limited budgets and a potentially devastating setback ominously looming around the corner.
But every great endeavor had a small beginning. Large oak trees began with a small seed. When the seed was rightly cultivated and overseen, the tree grew mightily.
What small task or chore is confronting you at work? Don’t despise it. Do it well. Pay careful attention to every detail. Be faithful in the small things. It’s an important key for success. Every large success usually began with a small beginning.
A friend of mine taught it to me.
The Bible and Jesus state it’s true.
And if God began the good work, he will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6) – even if it began as a small thing!
