Daily in Your Presence - June 11

Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac is a powerful reminder that God requires faith over physical offerings. Through this ancient story, Rebecca Barlow Jordan reveals the simple yet profound truth that our sins can be atoned for through the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Day 163

THE RAM

Abraham looked up and there in a thicket
he saw a ram caught by its horns.
He. . . sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
Genesis 22:13

FROM THE FATHER'S HEART
My child, I've always known My destiny. Throughout the Bible you will find the clues that lead you to My Father's heart. I tested Abraham's faith on the mountain that day, but I knew he would obey Me. Just as I didn't require his son for a sacrifice, I do not require a physical sacrifice from you. There is nothing you can do to pay for your sins. I only want you to turn away from your sin and let Me be that ultimate sin sacrifice. I was that ram that God provided—just in time. I gave My life for you.

A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
When I read of Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son, I realize it was a picture of You, Lord. You, the innocent ram, stepped in, not just to save Isaac's life, but the lives of millions to follow — as many believers as there are stars in the sky or grains in the sand.

SIMPLE TRUTH

Faith does not look forward or backward; faith reaches upward.
