10 Bring the bull to the Tent of Meeting. Aaron and his sons will place their hands on the head of the bull. 11 Then you will slaughter the bull in the presence of God at the entrance to the Tent of Meeting. 12 Take some of the bull's blood and smear it on the horns of the Altar with your finger; pour the rest of the blood on the base of the Altar. 13 Next take all the fat that covers the innards, fat from around the liver and the two kidneys, and burn it on the Altar. 14 But the flesh of the bull, including its hide and dung, you will burn up outside the camp. It is an Absolution-Offering.

Aaron and his sons were to be set apart for the priest's office, with ceremony and solemnity. Our Lord Jesus is the great High Priest of our profession, called of God to be so; anointed with the Spirit, whence he is called Messiah, the Christ; clothed with glory and beauty; sanctified by his own blood; made perfect, or consecrated through sufferings, Matthew 12:28,) and by him the merit of Christ is applied to our souls. This consecration signifies the admission of a sinner into the spiritual priesthood, to offer spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
