5 Valentine’s Crafts for Valentine’s Day

Valentine’s Day occurs on February 14 each year, and it is a day when we extend extra love and care to others. While many people believe Valentine’s Day is only for couples, anyone can celebrate Valentine’s Day.

A great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day is by making crafts. You can make these crafts by yourself or with others. Here are five Valentine’s crafts for Valentine’s Day.

1. Homemade Valentine’s Day Cards

The first Valentine’s craft for Valentine’s Day is homemade Valentine’s cards. Usually, most of us buy a pack of Valentine’s cards from a store and then pass them out, but we can make this Valentine’s Day special by making our own homemade cards.

My sister used to make homemade Valentine’s cards for each of our family members each year. They were always very special and brought a smile to everyone’s face.

You can be creative in this craft and make whatever design you want to make. Different options could be heart-shaped cards, cards with special messages, or cards with glitter.

The idea here is to be as creative as you want and to know to whom your card is being sent. If you know someone who loves the colors green, purple, or red, make sure to include these colors on the card.

In the same way, if someone you know loves glitter, make sure to add extra glitter to your cards. This craft is mainly simple as it’s safe for all ages to create; however, adults will be needed for any use of scissors.

Use a variety of different construction paper and think of different shapes you can cut your Valentine’s card into. You can do a heart, but you can also do a square, a triangle, or a circle. Whatever you choose, you can be creative and add a special note to the card.

You can either choose to write the special message directly on the shape you cut out or you could write it on a piece of paper and attach it to your Valentine’s card. Your loved one will be overjoyed when you give them this special gift on Valentine’s Day.

2. Heart Button Art

A second Valentine’s craft for Valentine’s Day is a heart button art craft. This is a cute craft that helps a person get into the Valentine’s Day spirit. This craft comes from the website Dream A Little Bigger. The heart button art craft can be utilized for decoration, or it can be used as a gift for someone else.

Similar to many children growing up, I remember my mother owned a container filled with buttons of all sorts of sizes, shapes, and colors. They were fascinating to me as a child.

When one of the buttons of my jacket came off in fourth grade, my mom let me pick a button from this special container to replace the lost button on my jacket.

I was beyond excited to pick out a button, so of course, I had to choose a button that didn’t match any of the other brown buttons on my jacket, yet my mother didn’t mind. She sewed the one I chose onto my jacket, and I went on my way.

While this may be relatable to many, buttons take us back to memories that are cherished in our hearts. Maybe you have some special memories of buttons from your childhood. By doing this craft for Valentine’s Day, you may be reminded of your loved one who is no longer with you.

In this way, it can be a very special Valentine’s craft that can give you fond memories. All you need for this craft are buttons, a picture frame, patterned paper, a foam core board, buttons, matching seed beads, and matching acrylic paint.

You can purchase the supplies at various craft stores or department stores. Feel free to be creative in this craft, and you can use various different colors if you desire. The full instructions are found on Dream A Little Bigger.

3. ‘Will You Be My Valentine?’ Craft

A third Valentine’s craft for Valentine’s Day is the “Will You Be My Valentine?” craft. This craft comes from the website Tatertots and Jello. This is a cute Valentine’s Day craft that you can make for the Valentine in your life.

You can even make it for your mom, dad, grandparent, or sibling. This craft is a hanging craft that can be a decorative piece in your house, or it could be a craft you give to someone else.

If you decide to give this craft to someone else as a gift, it will be sure to brighten their day. Everyone wants to feel loved, and this craft will help someone in your life feel loved and cared about.

In order to make this craft, you will need a square board or frame, paint, one set of “Thickers” (Scrapbook Adhesive Letters), ribbon, hot glue, a glue gun, a heart or embellishment for the middle of the frame, and Ric Rack or similar trim.

While this is a slightly more difficult craft as compared to the two prior crafts, it is a fun craft that will bring a smile to your loved one’s face. The complete instructions are found at Tatertots and Jello.

4. Valentine’s Day Heart Scarf for Dogs

A fourth Valentine’s craft for Valentine’s Day is a Valentine’s Day Heart Scarf for dogs. If you have a furry friend, you can make this craft to help your pup be ready for Valentine’s Day.

The full instructions for this craft are found on the website Sarah Hearts. You will need felt, pinking shears, scissors, heat transfer vinyl, cotton fabric scrap, and an iron.

This craft does not include sewing, which makes it easier and quicker to complete. Make sure to still take your time in making this craft. Once you have finished, you will have a wonderful gift to give your pet.

While you can always purchase a festive scarf for your furry friend, it’s more personal to make this craft for your pet.

It will be a present that you can give to your dog that won’t be worn out anytime soon. In fact, your pup can wear this festive Valentine’s scarf throughout the winter months.

The scarf also will not get in your dog’s way so that it can still run and play without tripping or getting caught on something. You will love this scarf from the moment you make it and smile each time you have your dog wear it.

5. Flowerpot Valentine’s Craft

A fifth Valentine’s craft for Valentine’s Day is a flowerpot Valentine's craft. There are many people in our lives who would love to have this craft for Valentine’s Day. If you know any plant or flower lovers, this is the perfect Valentine’s craft for them.

For this craft, you will need small pots, which you can purchase from a home improvement store or from a craft store.

Once you have your pots, you may want to wash them off and allow them to dry. After they dry, you are ready to make your craft. You will need small flowerpots, permanent paint pens, permanent paint, and paintbrushes.

Once your flowerpots have dried, you will be able to make whatever design you would like on your flowerpot. Since it’s a Valentine’s Day gift, you can do a Valentine’s Day theme, such as hearts or a sweet message.

Whatever you choose will make sure to make your loved one smile and feel loved. After you have allowed your painted flowerpot to dry, you can purchase a small plant or a small bundle of flowers to plant in your flowerpot.

Make sure there are holes at the bottom of the flowerpot in order for the plant to be watered. When you choose your plant or flower, keep in mind your loved one’s favorite type of plant, flower, or color. This can help you choose the perfect plant or flower for your loved one and cause them to feel loved.
