Director Says 'The Bad Guys 2' Teaches Kids the Power of Redemption and Resilience
The upcoming sequel to the family film The Bad Guys delivers a powerful message about redemption and overcoming past mistakes, says the director. DreamWorks' The Bad Guys 2 will hit theaters Aug. 1, following the stories of Mr. Wolf and his crew as they try to live as reformed "good guys" -- only to be drawn into a new adventure that forces them to confront their pasts and prove they've truly changed.
It's a sequel to the 2022 movie and is based on the bestselling children's books by author Aaron Blabey about five animals -- a wolf, shark, piranha, snake and tarantula -- who previously teamed up to pull off heists, only to turn good and try to re-enter society.
"It's a story about redemption," co-director Pierre Perifel told Crosswalk Headlines.
