Crowder’s 'Still' Music Video Reminds Us We’re All Works in Progress
No one is perfect; no, not even one – far from it, in fact. Humans are fallen and lost, still dealing with the fallout from Adam and Eve’s original sin in the Garden of Eden. Sadly, that will forever and always be the case as long as humans remain on Earth.
But He made a way to overcome the gap between God and man caused by sin. Jesus Christ willingly went to the cross. He suffered and died, shedding His blood as He took our spot so that we might be forgiven and spend eternity with Him. However, even after we ask for His forgiveness and accept Him as our Lord and Savior, we remain human beings still prone to stumbling and falling. We’ll still have failures and flaws and will continue to make mistakes. We aren’t perfect, just forgiven, and in “Still,” Crowder reminds us that we are still a work in progress.
“He’s working on me, still
Changing me piece by piece, still
Making me better, gonna do His thing
Don’t care how long it takes ‘til”
What a beautiful song about God’s love, mercy, and grace! We serve as God who knows and understands that we are imperfect, fallen beings. He is merciful, patient, and faithful.
Perfection is not possible, but with God, through His teaching, training, and molding, we can and will slowly become the person He intended for us to be all along. Will we continue to fail, fall, and stumble? Yes, of course, but He is quick and faithful to forgive.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
