Can We Lose Our Salvation?
Absolutely not and here's why, because salvation is not of works. We're not saved by works nor are we kept by works and the gospel not only saves us but the gospel of Christ secures us. All of our sins are forgiven, past, present and future because the Bible says the blood of Jesus Christ, God's son, cleanses us from all sin. In fact, all my sins were in the future when Christ died for me.
So all of my sins, what I've done in the past, what I have sinned today and any sins that I might commit in the future are forgiven, covered, by the blood of Jesus Christ. Therefore there is no sin that I can ... I mean look, there's not sin that I could commit that would sin away my salvation. People who believe you can lose your salvation, I want to ask, "Well, how much sin does a person have to sin to sin away their salvation? How many times or what kinds of sins? Is it a big sin, a little sin, a lot of sins, a few ..."
"If there is one sin held against our account in the presence of the Holy God then we would all die and live separated from God in judgment." So we need to maximize the grace of God and minimize the works of man. And what God has done for us is forever. He says, "My sheep hear my voice. I know them and no man shall pluck them out of my Father's hand." We are in the grip of Almighty God. We are kept by his power.
Therefore we are secure, not because of what we have done or what we have done, but we are secure because of the very nature of salvation and the power of Jesus Christ to save us forever.
