Have you ever wondered what heaven is like?
Not in an abstract, floaty, harp-on-a-cloud kind of way—but truly and deeply—what is going on up there right now?
I found myself wanting to understand the answers to this question more deeply because my friend, my sister in Christ, and the woman I consider my right and left hand in this ministry recently lost her mother. I have watched Anna labor in love, preparing every detail of her beloved ‘mum’s’ service over the past couple of weeks. Anna’s mum, a lovely and godly woman in the UK, often prayed for me and our efforts here at CGM. She always cared about Heaven and about everyone she loved, anticipating the day they would enter. I believe her life was the ultimate song of worship.
Let me share something that will awaken your soul. Something I believe Anna’s mum knew and is now experiencing. Heaven is not bored. Heaven is not on pause. Heaven is not silent.
Heaven is roaring with life. It is vibrating with power. It is drenched in glory. And at the center of it all—worship. Unending, passionate, holy worship. The kind that silences doubt, levels pride and lifts weary souls.
Let’s go there today—not physically, but spiritually. Let’s open our eyes with the help of three powerful glimpses of heaven given to us in Scripture: John 1:29, Isaiah 6, and Revelation 4. And let’s allow the Spirit of God to bring heaven into our hearts… because worship, real worship, changes everything.

1. The Lamb Who Takes Away Sin – John 1:29
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” - John 1:29 NIV
John the Baptist said this while standing on dusty ground. But his words echoed something that heaven already knew—and has never stopped declaring.
Jesus is the Lamb.
He isn’t just a wise teacher or a prophet with good ideas. He is the Lamb of God—the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. In Revelation 5, we’re told that this same Lamb stands at the center of the throne, worshiped by every creature in heaven and on earth.
Heaven’s worship has a focal point—and it’s not us. It’s not our problems. It’s not even our blessings.
It’s Jesus—the Lamb.
Heaven’s worship begins with the miracle of sin being taken away. What a tragedy that on earth we sometimes treat this truth casually. But heaven never does. The Lamb is always central, and that should shape how we worship down here.
The Lamb should be the center of our focus.

2. The Holy, Holy, Holy God – Isaiah 6:1-3
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above Him were seraphim… and they were calling to one another: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of His glory.” - Isaiah 6:1-3 NIV
Isaiah saw something most of us have only imagined. He saw the throne room of heaven.
The Lord wasn’t pacing, stressed out about world events. He wasn’t worried about the bills, the future, or life and death. He was seated, enthroned in glory. And above Him, fiery, powerful beings—seraphim—could do nothing but cry out: “Holy, holy, holy!”
Not once. Not twice. But three times. Holy. Holy. Holy.
That triple repetition in Hebrew is emphatic. It means “utterly holy,” “perfectly set apart,” “infinitely other.”
This is not a boring room filled with bored people up there in the sky. This is the command center of the universe, pulsing with glory. The angels aren’t distracted or disengaged. They’re obsessed—completely captivated by the sheer holiness of God.
Can I ask you something?
When was the last time you were captivated by God’s holiness?
We don’t discuss holiness enough. It’s not always trendy. It’s not often viral. But it is the heart of heaven’s worship. Holiness is what drives the song in the throne room.
And here’s what’s amazing: When Isaiah saw this, he didn’t shout or dance. He fell apart.
He said, “Woe to me! I am ruined!” (Isaiah 6:5). Some translations say I am undone. Why? Because the light of God’s holiness revealed his sin. That’s what real worship does—it humbles us. It doesn’t puff us up. It brings us low in awe, only to lift us up in grace.

3. A Throne Surrounded by Glory – Revelation 4:8-11
“Each of the four living creatures… day and night they never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come…The twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for You created all things, and by Your will they were created and have their being.” - Revelation 4:8-11 NIV
Fast-forward to the Apostle John’s vision, and we’re back in heaven. But this time, the scene is even richer.
We don’t just see angels. We see elders. Creatures. Thrones. Thunder. Colors. Crowns.
And yet—same cry. “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty.”
Day and night, they never stop saying it. Worship in heaven is not scheduled. It is constant. No one is checking their watch. No one is looking for the exit. They can’t stop worshiping because they are overwhelmed by God’s glory.
It’s also reverent. The elders fall down. They lay their crowns at His feet. Imagine that—leaders in heaven surrendering everything to honor the One who is truly worthy.
And what do they declare?
“You are worthy… for You created all things.”
God is not just holy. He is worthy. Why? Because He made everything. And everything exists by His will, including you.
You are not a cosmic accident. You are not forgotten. You were created on purpose. Heaven knows it, and heaven worships because of it.

4. What Does This Teach Us about Worship?
If this is what’s happening in heaven right now, what should be happening in us?
Here are five truths we can’t ignore:
Worship in heaven is constant.
No intermissions. No breaks. Day and night. Worship never stops. That tells us worship isn’t just a Sunday activity. It’s a lifestyle.
It exalts God’s holiness.
“Holy, holy, holy” is not a throw-away phrase. It’s the anthem of heaven. Real worship lifts God up, not us. It starts with who He is, not what we need.
It magnifies Jesus as the Lamb.
Jesus isn’t just in heaven—He’s the center of heaven. Worship is anchored in the gospel: the Lamb who was slain so we could be free.
It is filled with surrender and awe.
Crowns are laid down. Faces fall to the floor. Heaven shows us what humility looks like. If our worship doesn’t involve surrender, is it truly worship?
It includes the entire host of heaven.
Angels. Elders. Creatures. Every voice joins in. Worship is not a solo act—it’s a symphony. And we’ve been invited to sing along.

5. When You Feel Forgotten on Earth…
Let me speak straight to your heart for a moment.
-If you’re feeling unloved today…
-If you’re walking through something hard…
-If you’re wondering if God still sees you…
-If you’ve been questioning your worth or your place in the world…
Lift your eyes. Look beyond the mirror. Look beyond the pain. Look beyond the noise. Look into heaven. You are seen. You are loved. You are known. You are the reason the Lamb came.
Heaven isn’t just for “some day.” It’s your destination, your inheritance, and it’s already happening—right now. One day, your voice will join that heavenly chorus face to face. But until then, let your life resonate with the worship of heaven. Don’t wait for eternity to start living like a citizen of heaven.
Worship today as the angels do—focused, surrendered, and full of awe. Worship today as the elders do—casting your crown and saying, “You alone are worthy.” Worship today as John and Isaiah did—overwhelmed by holiness, undone by grace.
Worship today as I believe Anna Richards’ ‘mum’ surely did – and certainly now does!

6. Heaven Is Not Bored—So Don’t Be Either
If heaven never tires of a life of worship, why do we?
If they see Him as endlessly worthy, why don’t we?
Maybe it’s because we’ve forgotten to look up. We’ve become too accustomed to looking around. But friend worship elevates us. It reminds us that this world is not our home, and our King is not of this world.
So, let your life be a throne room. Let your heart be an altar. Let your voice be a song. Because the Lamb remains worthy. Because God is still holy. Because heaven continues to worship. And because one day… you’ll be there too. Along with Christine Doris Smith and a host of others, whose lives were lived as part of the song of worship going on in Heaven.
Face to face. Crown in hand. Falling to your knees in love. And finally saying, “Holy, holy, holy.”
Amen.
