Romans 6:5-11

For if we have become united with Him in the likeness of His death, certainly we shall also be in the likeness of His resurrection…Consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

A life of total commitment is what Jesus wants to live through you!

Living a life of total commitment to God isn’t just hard — it’s impossible! There has only ever been one person who was able to live that way and that was Jesus Christ. But the exciting reality of your Christian life is that when you put your faith in Jesus, the Holy Spirit entered into your life and a spiritual change took place within you.

You were united with Jesus Christ. Peter puts it this way: he says that we have become “partakers of divine nature”. We were created spiritually so that we are unable to live God’s way without God’s life in us. As we welcome Jesus and invite Him to lead our lives, He then begins to live out His way of life — total commitment flowing from His love for God the Father — in and through us!

Jesus is saying to you today, “You can’t live the way you should. But I can; and I am in you!” Today, why don’t you invite Jesus to be the leader of your life? Invite Him to live His life in you: dead to sin, but alive to God.
