Patiently In Step

Today's reading: 1 Samuel 24:1-22

David was seemingly presented with the perfect opportunity to become the king of Israel by killing Saul. His men even urged him to take this action. But as soon as he begins to move in this direction, David realizes that harming Saul is not what God had for him. So instead of taking Saul's life, David humbly confronts Saul, and then steps back to wait on the Lord's timing.

I was thankful for David's example because I am currently experiencing holding patterns in a couple of areas in my life and struggling a little with being patient and waiting for God. So the reminder was a good one today. You've got to love it when God provides you with the exact message you need.

Do you find it difficult to wait for God to respond to or move in a situation? What did you learn about being patient from David today? Tami
