Honor, Praise, Promote

today's reading.
Psalms 51     Have mercy on me, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out my transgressions...

the blog.
David is asking God to cleanse him and to create in him a clean heart and for God to renew a right spirit within him (vs. 10). And then he tells the Lord that he will honor, promote and praise Him, not with a physical sacrifice or a burnt offering, but with his actions and especially his words. Verse 16 tells us "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise."

So what does your "sacrifice" to the Lord look like? In the past week how have your actions and words honored, praised and promoted God? Tami W.
