Make a joyful shout to the LORD . . . (Psalm 100:1)
In a nation that prints “In God We Trust” on its currency, we ought to shout in every house, dormitory, and apartment, “The Lord God reigns!” You can’t get everybody who walks through the doors of the church to confess that. But just because it doesn’t happen everywhere doesn’t mean that it couldn’t happen somewhere. Also, the Word of God says that one day it will happen everywhere. With just as much excitement as if it were happening everywhere, you ought to say, “Lord, here in my heart and home, I’m going to cry, ‘The Lord God reigns!’ “
Be challenged by Romans
Romans doesn’t let us sit still. In Romans, Paul talks about the obligation we are under to spread the truth of the Gospel and to engage with the culture around us. He talks about the journey we must make after we accept the God’s gift of salvation. We are called to leave our comfortable and easy corners and spread the message of Christ’s sacrifice to everyone around us, because we have been freely justified!
