Remember Whose and Who You Are
By David Chadwick

In high school, I didn’t date much. I thought that I was too tall and gangly.

Occasionally, however, I did garner enough courage to ask a girl out. When I did, I’ll never forget what Dad said to me as I left the house.

“Son, always remember whose and who you are.”

At first, I didn’t think much about his words. Over the years, I’ve learned the profundity of what Dad was saying to me.

Dad wanted me to remember whose I am: a child of God. I represent him wherever I am. Second, who I am: a Chadwick. I carry my mom and dad’s name wherever I am.

Dad was reminding me that I represented the Lord and my family wherever I was. Therefore, I should behave accordingly.

It’s a life lesson that still guides me today – no matter where I am. I hope it helps you as well.

We need to remember whose and who we are.
