Remember This!
By David Chadwick

It’s not unusual to feel discouraged when fighting the enemy. His wiles are devious and his attacks relentless. He wants to wear you down so you will give up and surrender to him.

As you continue to fight the fight against the enemy, please remember this fact: only one-third of the angels rebelled against God and became demons (Revelation 12:4, 7-12). That means two-thirds of the angels did not rebel against God and remained loyal to him.

Two against one are for God.

I like those odds, don’t you?

Can you imagine fighting a war knowing that you have two soldiers for every one the enemy has? A fight where your side outmans your opponent two to one?

What’s more, keep in mind that victory has already been won. Jesus defeated the enemy through the cross and his resurrection. You fight the enemy from a place of victory, not for victory.

Therefore, anytime you fight the enemy and begin to feel overwhelmed, remember the two-to-one reality. There are two angels in heaven who are for you versus the demons who are against you.

And remember that ultimately, God has secured “victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57). Those facts should lift your spirits and encourage your soul. They should strengthen your will to continue to fight.

God is on your side (Psalm 108:13). He is for you (Romans 8:31). He will never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). The battle belongs to the Lord (2 Chronicles 20:15).

Remember this: Two are stronger than one. The good angels outnumber the bad demons two to one.

And Jesus has secured our victory.

Those are the biblical facts.

Let your heart today rejoice in and be encouraged by these truths.
