Thoughts for the Day
Conflict is a part of life. Wherever there are people, there will be differences—misunderstandings, disagreements, and tension.
The question is not whether conflict will happen, but how we will respond when it does.
Many times, we approach conflict with the goal of winning, defending ourselves, or proving a point. But these approaches often lead to more distance, not resolution.
God calls us to something different—to be peacemakers.
Peacemaking is not about avoiding conflict. It is about stepping into it with humility, patience, and a desire to restore what has been strained.
Consider This . . .
Think about a relationship where there is tension or unresolved conflict.
How have you approached it so far? Have you been defensive, avoidant, or reactive?
Now consider a different approach: What would it look like to pursue peace instead?
Peacemaking may mean listening more carefully. It may mean asking questions instead of making assumptions. It may mean choosing gentleness when you feel like reacting strongly.
You cannot control the outcome—but you can control your posture.
And a peaceful posture often opens the door for healing.
Prayer
Father, make me a peacemaker. Help me approach conflict with humility, patience, and grace.
In Jesus’ name…
