Marketing Plan Questions – Question 1

In my book, “Unconventional Business,” I highlighted seven questions from marketing guru, Seth Godin, that may help you shape your marketing plan. The first question is, “Who are you trying to reach?

While coaching a young entrepreneur recently, I asked about his target market. This young man claimed he wanted to sell his service to anyone with money!

The broadest market possible may seem best, but my experience shows that a strategy that lacks a narrow focus on a particular segment will usually fail.

A clearly defined market allows you to be more effective and efficient with your limited resources.

In Matthew 15:24 Jesus declared, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”

Although Jesus occasionally made exceptions, He knew his target market. Have you clearly defined yours?
