Our circumstances sometimes are so bleak that we can’t see the possibilities God has in mind for us. Moses told the Hebrew slaves that despite being in slavery for 400 years, God was about to release them.
But Moses’ first attempt to reason with Pharaoh resulted in Pharaoh punishing the slaves by making their work even harder. The Israelites became hopeless.
Even though Moses shared God’s promise of deliverance, in Exodus 6:9 we read, “Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.”
It took longer than desired, but God did free the Israelites from slavery. If you’re feeling hopeless at work, don’t allow your circumstances to rob you of the hope God desires to give to you today.
