Whose Reward Are You Seeking

According to the CECP’s Giving in Numbers 2015 report, 29% of all giving from the major corporations goes to universities or K-12 education. Some of the largest gifts received by universities are tied to someone’s name going on a building.

Although there is usually an element of true generosity attached, many times it’s about branding or ego for people to know who made the gift.

In Matthew 6:2 Jesus taught, “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.”

If you desire to receive a reward from God, examine your motives and be careful not to seek too heartily recognition from man.
