A Rocky Start

After my college graduation, it didn’t take long to realize that the highly detailed work of public accounting didn’t fit well with my “big picture” entrepreneurial mindset.

Misery set in, especially after I received my CPA certificate. Suddenly, I had accomplished the only goal I had in life and I hated the work!

King Solomon taught in Ecclesiastes 5, “Here is what I have seen to be good and fitting: to eat, to drink and enjoy oneself in all one’s labor … for this is his reward.”

God’s best is for our labor to bring joy. College prepared me for a career, but it took performing the work to realize it wasn’t my calling. If your work isn’t rewarding, keep praying and looking for God’s best, while doing the work before you.
