A Powerful Weakness
By Rick Boxx
March 4, 2011

After a Business Symposium for prisoners, the business leaders who participated in helping these men with their business plans marveled at the prisoners’ gratefulness.

In spite of their dire circumstances these prisoners revealed deep gratitude for the time invested in their lives. Their gratitude seemed to flow out of their recognized weaknesses as men who had stumbled and fell morally.

Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Prisoners typically despise weakness. These men revealed their weaknesses, and Christ’s power. Does gratitude flow out of your weaknesses?
