Watchful and Thankful

A friend shared with me awhile back that he has had many occasions in his life and business when he desperately needed God to intervene. He would cry out for God’s help, and occasionally make commitments to God.
He admitted that God has been faithful to answer his prayers. However, when the dust settled, and business went back to normal, he would forget about God and any promises he had made related to his prayers. His gratitude and thankfulness to God was short lived.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Colossians 4:2, “Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.”
Prayer ought to be an important part of our life and career, but we also need to be watchful of how God answers. Then, thank Him for His kindness.
