Knowledge and Understanding

Jeremy’s Special Olympics team was able to enter a mixed relay race, due to my son, Jeremy’s, breast stroke expertise. At the swim meet, I prepared Jeremy by reminding him to do the breast stroke when it was his turn.
He started perfectly. Then I watched with horror as I saw my wife, Kathy, on the side of the pool innocently motioning for Jeremy to switch to a crawl stroke. Jeremy obeyed, disqualifying the team. Unfortunately, Kathy didn’t understand Jeremy’s role. Kathy was crushed.
In Jeremiah 3:15 God told the Israelites, “Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.”
For success at work, all members of a team need to have knowledge and understanding. How well informed is your team?
