A Reverse Offering
By: Rick Boxx
February 8, 2012

According to the “Christian Newswire,” Journey Church in Bend, Oregon gave an offering to each person at church in December, rather than taking one. Pastor Kirkpatrick charged his congregation to be the church outside the church walls, by helping others in their community.

Ephesians 4:11-12 teaches, “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ.”

The Church is designed to be an interdependent group of people, with unique gifts and mutual accountability. Journey Church’s challenge to their members is a great reminder that the work of the church is much more than what goes on inside those four walls.

This book details how to begin the process of being accountable to one another. It’s a practical tool for helping people who desire to have character and integrity. Purchase Character That Counts here.
