Mike moved his family around the country several times, chasing his business interests. The family’s attention was usually on Mike. If a new venture required them to move, the family moved.
That is until Mike was asked by a preacher, “Have you ever asked your spouse about her dreams for your future?” Mike realized his wife had always supported him, but he had never asked her about her desires. Months later, Mike’s family was moving again, but this time it was to fulfill his wife’s dreams.
Ephesians 5:25 teaches, “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”
If your career has always taken precedent in your home, consider asking your spouse about his or her dreams, then listen and pray.
