Accountability Apathy
By:  Rick Boxx
December 28, 2011

Barna Group, a research company, highlighted several 2010 trends. One troubling development is that 85% of evangelical Christians surveyed, have no church-centered accountability in their life.

Without accountability it's easy for Christians to stray from God's design without consequence. This can result in a toothless church.

God warned Ezekiel in Ezekiel 3:18-19, "When I say to a wicked person, ‘You will surely die,' and you do not warn them or speak out to dissuade them from their evil ways in order to save their life, that wicked person will die for their sin, and I will hold you accountable for their blood."

In our tolerant culture it's uncomfortable to confront brothers and sisters who are turning from God's ways, but it's critical for the church to find ways to do so.
