In a Wall Street Journal article, comic book professionals, Chuck Dixon and Paul Rivoche, highlight that in the 1950s the industry created the Comics Code Authority to help protect children from story lines that might glorify violent crime, drug use or other illicit behavior.
By the 1990s the industry threw out the CCA and began pushing violence and moral relativism. One third of English-as-a-Second Language teachers in the U.S. now use comics for teaching students. This industry has a huge influence on our children.
In all industries, let’s be guardians, not exploiters of children.
