Even Accountants Matter

Our pastor, Andrew, mentioned in a sermon that he used to hear frequently the belief that pastors and missionaries were the only ones who had a vocational calling. Now he hears more frequently a different concern.

Some understand the value of people-oriented professions but wonder how accountants and other task-oriented occupations can minister to others.

Andrew reminded the congregation that our role is to bring restoration to the brokenness around us. For example, accountants put order to finances, restoring brokenness that many experience in business and in personal finances.

1 Corinthians 12:28 teaches, “And God has appointed in the church, first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, various kinds of tongues.”

All work matters; at the office, in the field, and at home!
