Knowing Your Flock
By Rick Boxx
April 19, 2011
A survey by ExecuNet, a professional network for executives, discovered that many CEOs don’t know their people quite as well as they believe. For instance, almost 10% of executives claimed work-life balance was important to them, but very few of their CEOs believed it mattered to these subordinates.
The research revealed that interest in work-life balance was more than double what the CEOs expected. These leaders have some work to do.
Jesus said in John 10:14, “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me.”
Jesus knew His flock well, and knew that they needed to know Him also.
If you’re in a management role, take time to know and understand your people. Ask questions, listen, and let them get to know you as well.
