Either God or Everything Else
In Him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in His holy name.
Psalm 33:21

Decision-making is typically choosing between one thing and something else.  But, if you consider faith in Jesus Christ, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

For a follower of Christ, the issue isn’t between one thing and another; but between one thing and everything else.

Consider the issue of fear.  Living without fear isn’t an option, but knowing what to fear is.  If we fear the Lord, we need fear nothing else.  However, if we don’t, we’ll necessarily fear everything else.

The same is true of faith.  We all have faith.  The important issue is what we have faith in.  If you trust God, you shouldn’t need to trust anything else.  If you don’t trust God, you will trust just about everything else.

Are you fearing and trusting God or everything but God?

“The first duty of every soul is to find not its freedom but its Master.” - Peter T. Forsythe (1842-1921)
