Daily in Your Presence - Aug. 22

Rebecca Barlow Jordan shares a powerful message from God's Word about the nature of holiness and sanctification, reminding us that our efforts to be perfect are futile and that it is Jesus' blood that makes us holy. In this devotional, she encourages readers to rest in God's presence and trust in His ability to continually sanctify them.

Day 235

JEHOVAH-MEKODDISHKEM,
THE LORD SANCTIFIES YOU

That ye may know that

I am the Lord that doth sanctify you.

Exodus 31:13 kjv

FROM THE FATHER'S HEART
My child, all of your straining to be perfect will profit you nothing. It is impossible for you to keep every one of My laws. You cannot make yourself holy by doing anything. It is My blood shed for you that makes you holy. And as your Jehovah-mekoddishkem, it is I who will continually sanctify you and conform you to My image. Rest in Me, child. I know your heart's desire is to please Me. That's what I want. Keep our relationship close. I'll do the rest .

A GRATEFUL RESPONSE
Sometimes I feel like Peter, Lord, when You were washing his feet. I need to wash Yours instead.  But You are Jehovah-mekoddishkem, the Lord who sanctifies, the One who washes me continually with Your own blood. You are continually working in my life to make me holy .

SIMPLE TRUTH

No tree ever bore fruit by saying, "I think I can, I think I can."
