Destiny of the Church - Monday, April 3rd 2017
that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
As we follow Jesus we may look at ourselves in light of this scripture and think "well I'm not without spot or blemish" or "the church I see is definitely not without spot or blemish." It's important for us to note that Jesus isn't viewing us through the lens of our sin any more, He is actually viewing us in light of His will for our destiny with Him. His blood shed for our sin and our acceptance of that is how we have been cleansed by Him perfectly through grace. He has given us roles in the church body (Ephesians 4:11-13) as well as how to walk in those gifts and roles (1 Corinthians 12, 13, and 14 special emphasis on 1 Corinthians 13 the love chapter). These gifts and instructions were given to us to help us fulfill the great commission.
Matt 28:19-20 (The Great Commission)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.
Then He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."
We should ask God for a burden for the lost.
(Especially if you don't have one or you have pushed it down.)
The blood that cleanses us so that we are without spot or wrinkle is the same blood that was shed for the rest of the world so that they could come too. We are saved, not just to be saved, but to offer others Jesus and salvation. We are each created, called, and gifted by God to a high calling. This calling is reaching and teaching; walking and growing in love, (the fruit of the Spirit), using our gifts to bless each other, and encourage each other. We do this by serving, by giving, being rooted and grounded in love and forgiveness for one another. Family we are on a mission to bring others to Christ and disciple them towards Christ to be at the marriage supper of the Lamb where the mystery of our marriage to Christ will be completed.
Life Lesson: The mystery of marriage will be completed at 'the Marriage Supper of the Lamb', where Jesus is the Groom, and the Church, is the Bride.
Lord, thank You for Your forgiveness that completely covers all my sins. Please give me the grace to serve in the same calling and gifts that You have for my life. Help me to love others with the same love that You have shown me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Living to tell what He died to say,
