Get Wisdom

Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
- Proverbs 4:5-7
Here’s some good news! If you ever feel like you are at a loss for direction and answers in life, there is heavenly wisdom ready to be released at a moment’s notice. There is no need, not another day in your life, to say, “I’m so confused” or “I don’t know what to do.” Why? Because God’s wisdom is available to you. I like that! I can always know what to do. I just have to ask. The key here is to ask and to ask God.
Oftentimes, when we are looking for answers we go to friends and family. Sometimes we may even ask people who are unbelievers because they work with us or are a nearby convenience. Yet, we are instructed in the Word of God not to get counsel from the ungodly (Psalm 1:1) or from anyone who is not going to give you “God advice.” It is not advised to seek that kind of wisdom. There is only one person who knows exactly what you should do all the time and in every situation. That one is God! He will not only tell you what to do, but give you the detailed knowledge on how to do it.
Proverbs 4 tells us to get wisdom and in all your getting, get understanding. I often find people who know they have heard God share with them something to do but don’t know how to get it done. We must take the time, pray to God, and ask Him to give us His wisdom.
Make a conscious decision today to go to God first before you call a friend or someone else for advice. God knows your destiny and His wisdom will be exactly what you need to lead you through a path to great success!
