Read: Micah 4

Key Verse: “All the nations may walk in the name of their gods; we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever.” - Micah 4:5

There is an emphasis in this verse on walking with the Lord. Many people can have good intentions, know their Bibles, and speak eloquently about the spiritual life. God is looking for obedience more than knowledge. At the height of our faith, we will be walking in God’s ways and carrying out His instruction. Relational closeness with God and living out your faith coincide beautifully. Micah challenged religious people to begin doing what they claim to believe.

Another truth in this verse is the fact that you will be an obvious minority if you choose to wholeheartedly follow God. You will be attending church, sharing your faith, forgiving quickly, honoring God’s design in marriage, speaking without profanity, praying frequently, and trusting the authority of God’s Word. Are you afraid of being different than your community? What aspects of your faith will go against the flow of most people in your city? Make a decision today to not shrink back in words or deeds.
