Matt. 7:24-27 "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell—and great was its fall!"
Ever tried to build a house without putting down any foundations? Oh sure, perhaps you can build a kids cubby house or a shed in the backyard. But the moment you want to have a serious house - something that's solid, something that's worth something - the moment you want one of those, you need foundations.
Problem is foundations are expensive and they're pretty boring.
And so in life, so often we just race ahead and want to build our house, without paying any attention to the foundations. I see people who claim to be Christians and when they're under pressure all of a sudden they start to lash out, and behave badly.
You know what that tells me - they're life with God is missing some of its foundations. When the storms of life come - what we need, are solid foundations. Where do you get those? Well for me, I get them every morning when I spend some time quietly, alone with Jesus. You know so far, it's the only place I've discovered, for keeping my foundations in tact.
So many people yearn for a better life, which is why "self-improvement" is a multi-billion dollar industry. But the truth is, it doesn’t work, because the big changes, the truly important changes, are impossible to achieve on your own. That’s why Jesus came. So if you want to lay hold of the “super-abundant” life that He promised (John 10:10) download this free eBooklet, because that’s what it’s all about. The change you’ve been looking for!
