A Different Perspective - October 30

Just Plain Crazy!
by Berni Dymet

Luke 4:40,41 As the sun was setting, all those who had any who were sick with various kinds of diseases brought them to him; and he laid his hands on each of them and cured them. Demons also came out of many, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But he rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew that he was the Messiah.

You know what's really sad? I mean … really, really sad?

There are so many people who believe in Jesus. I mean, they truly believe that He's the Son of God that He was a man, that He died for them, that He rose again and that they have eternal life.

They believe that. Great.

But instead of knowing Jesus for themselves, He's this far off distant figure. They know about Jesus … but they don't know Him!

It's like me reading a textbook about my wife. Reading about how wonderful she is and all the things she can do - without ever meeting her for myself, let alone living the rest of my life with her. That'd be crazy wouldn't it?

But that's what many - dare I say most people do with Jesus. And in doing that - they miss out on the power, the amazing love and the power of this radical Jesus to completely and utterly transform their lives.

I don't know, I'm not a very bright guy, but isn't that just plain crazy?
