The Angel of Light
by Berni Dymet
2 Cor. 11:13-15 For such boasters are false apostles, deceitful workers, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ. And no wonder! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. So it is not strange if his ministers also disguise themselves as ministers of righteousness. Their end will match their deeds.
This world is full of so many seductive trinkets. There are so many people out there to tell us what we want to hear. The easiest thing in the world is to imagine that all God wants for us, is to be immersed in all these trinkets.
I mean - why wouldn't He? There are even some preachers who tell you it's true!
A thousand years ago the Apostle Paul spoke about this deception. He said - "Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light!"
Is there anything wrong with having some nice things? Not per se … until we put them ahead of God. Until serving them becomes more important than serving God. Until they grip us so tight, we can't let it go when God asks us to.
Last time I checked - Jesus gave all that He was and all that He had … for you and me. Everything. And that's what He wants from you and from me.
So beware. Beware the angel of light.
