A Different Perspective - March 11

Jesus Prayed
by Berni Dymet

Mark 1:35 In the morning, while it was still very dark, he got up and went out to a deserted place, and there he prayed.

I'm sure you have more than enough stuff to do in your life. Work, and home, and rest …and take in the odd movie maybe. It's a pretty cluttered old world we live in - and I for one have more than enough to do.

Imagine then - if you or I were celebrities, with the media in our faces, the crowds following after us. Like Jesus. Yes, He was a rock star. Huge crowds followed Him everywhere. Jesus had His hands full.

And yet, Mark tells us that in the morning, while it was still very dark, Jesus got up and went out to a deserted place and there, he prayed.

Now let's just stop and think for a minute. Jesus the Son of God - God the Son - when He took on our flesh and blood, made it His first priority - early in the morning, while it was still dark - to pray.

I love doing things for God. But I wonder whether in this busy, cluttered world in which we live -whether first and foremost, God isn't looking for prayers.
