⁵ you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me,

⁵ Thou dost not bow thyself to them, nor serve them: for I, Jehovah thy God, 'am' a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on the third 'generation', and on the fourth, of those hating Me,

⁵ you shall not bow down to them or serve them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me,
