Shebam

Smith’s Bible Dictionary

“Shebam” means fragrance

Shebam: one of the towns in the pastoral district on the east of Jordan; demanded by and finally ceded to the tribes of Reuben and Gad. (Numbers 32:3) It is probably the same as SHIBMAH, (Numbers 32:38) and SIBMAH. (Joshua 13:13; Isaiah 16:8,9; Jeremiah 48:32)
