Let's not sweat the small stuff. We're not even going to remember it.

How to Remember and Cherish the Good Things in Life

Here are a few things that we've learned over 24 years of marriage about not sweating the small stuff. We've learned that life is too short to sweat the small stuff. We all hear stories about people who are dying, and we all have goals of where we want to be at the end of our lives. Even now, when I look back to the past, I choose to remember and cherish the good things. I don't remember how the dishes were dirty, or the plant fell over and broke, and we had to clean it up, or we got a flat tire.

  • I remember my wedding day.
  • I remember Christmases and New Year's Eve.
  • I remember dates my husband and I went on.
  • I remember when our children were born.
  • I remember these important days.

I think there are a lot of people who will come to the end of their lives, stand before Jesus, and forget what the irreconcilable differences were. They're going to remember their wedding day, but they won't remember the reasons why they got divorced. There is no condemnation if you have been divorced, but for those of us who are still married, let's not sweat the small stuff. We're not even going to remember it.
