A Prayer for God to Bring Holy People into Your Children’s Lives - Your Daily Prayer - February 24

Just think, wouldn’t it be amazing – on those days when our kids start to go off-track – if God sent a godly person with the right word, at the right time, to help them get back on God’s track?

A Prayer for God to Bring Holy People into Your Children’s Lives
By Kelly Balarie

Bible Reading: "Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm."– Proverbs 13:20 ESV

Read or Listen Below:

I was aware the woman sitting before me held deep wisdom inside of her. She raised wonderful children. She was also years ahead of me, so I knew there were things I could learn.

Intent to glean from her, I asked, “What is your best mothering wisdom?”

She answered, “What I have always done for my children is to pray.”

Immediately, I knew this woman hit the nail on the head. The best thing we can ever do for our children is to pray for them. Better is prayer than a word of advice that may fall on deaf ears. Better is God’s help than a mother’s best attempt to assist a child in need. Better is God to reveal truth to a kid than for a mom to repeatedly say it.

This woman had my attention.

She added, “What I always pray for my kids, specifically, is that God would bring people into their life, consistently, that draw them closer and closer to Jesus.”

Her prayer hit the mark. After she said it, I could envision its impact on my children’s life if I started to pray it... For instance, as my kids go to a new school, God might bring friends with passion for the Lord around them. As they go to college, their roommates could be people who love the Lord with all their heart. As they go in the workforce, a co-worker might invite them to a bible study. As they find their spouse, they might meet someone full of the fruits of the Holy Spirit. All these people would draw them closer to knowing and loving God.

What a wonderful and impactful prayer.

Proverbs 13:20 says, “Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm."

Clearly, our children will become like the company they keep, so we must pray for the company that keep coming around them.

I have been praying for years for their spouses, but I hadn’t considered praying for God to bring person after person into their life to encourage them in the ways of the Lord. When we pray for our children’s friends, their acquaintances, and everyone who comes along their path, we help pave a straight path for our children.

Just think, wouldn’t it be amazing – on those days when our kids start to go off-track – if God sent a godly person with the right word, at the right time, to help them get back on God’s track? Let’s pray for that!

Our prayers for our children are powerful and impactful!

Let’s Pray

Father, I ask you to bring people into my children’s life that would draw them closer and closer to You. Likewise, I also ask that you would keep-away people who would draw them away from you. May they continually grow and mature as they have relationships with others. May they hunger and thirst for your righteousness all the days of their life. May they meet those who have godly counsel if they start to go off the track of the Lord. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

When war dominates the headlines, parents are left asking an important question: How do we talk to our kids about it? In this episode of March or Die, Jeremy Stalnecker shares practical and biblical principles for guiding young people through confusing and frightening global events.

Drawing from his experience as a Marine who lived through the wars following 9/11, Jeremy explains why moments of global conflict can become powerful opportunities for parents to teach their children about courage, faith, and moral clarity. Rather than avoiding difficult conversations, parents can use them to help their kids understand fear, the reality of evil in the world, and the responsibility we have to stand for what is right.

This conversation explores how parents can alleviate fear, explain why conflict exists, and demonstrate a faith-filled response when the world seems chaotic. Jeremy also discusses the importance of teaching children the difference between necessary and unnecessary violence, why standing against evil matters, and how faith in God provides stability even in uncertain times.
