Significant Plans - Today with Allen Jackson - June 13

Significant Plans

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV®)

For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

It is incredible to realize that God not only created us and gifted us individually, but that He also has prepared tasks for each of us to do in order to advance His purposes. I think most of us, when we imagine what God prepared for us, tend to think He must have planned something pretty remarkable.

I think, “God, when you thought of me you surely planned for massive stadiums filled with desperately wicked people waiting to hear me preach so they can sprint down the aisles, burst into tears, and repent.” I doubt any of us think God created us to scrub the bathroom tile or help a coworker finish a project or take a neighbor to a doctor’s appointment. While these acts of service might seem rather mundane in the eyes of the world, they are significant acts of ministry when we offer them in Jesus’ name and commit them to His plan and purposes.

THINK ABOUT IT

If you haven’t already done so, take an inventory of your spiritual gifts to help discern how God has created you to serve others and expand His Kingdom.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, You are the Creator and Designer of my life, holy and righteous in all things. Your plans and purposes are perfect in every way. I believe that I am Your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which You prepared in advance for me to do. I submit my life, my talents, and my relationships to You, to use as You choose. In Jesus’ name, amen.
