Not Our Problem

Psalm 108:13

With God we will gain the victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

The meaning of the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross is that God gave us victory over evil. For the most part I think we undervalue the work of the cross. We typically hear the cross described as the place where our sins were forgiven. That’s true, but it’s not the full truth. On the cross Jesus defeated Satan and all of his authority over your life and mine—body, soul, and spirit. Evil still touches our lives, but it doesn’t have dominion over us. God not only gives us victory, He also sees that our enemies receive justice. They are not our problem. So let’s not spend our time and energy focused on our adversaries. Let’s spend our time and energy focused on pleasing and praising God for His deliverance.

PRAYER

Heavenly Father, I thank You that through the blood of Jesus Christ I have been forgiven. Thank You for Your love and grace and mercy extended to me. Thank You for new beginnings. I praise You for the cleansing that washes over me day by day. In the name of Jesus I pray and believe, amen.
