Time with God - March 30

If you're struggling to maintain a healthy relationship with God due to disobedience, you may be surprised to learn that even prayer can become an abomination if you turn away from His law. By acknowledging your mistakes and seeking forgiveness, you can restore your connection with God and experience the fullness of His power and presence in your life.

Proverbs 28:9

“If one turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.”

There are times when the only prayer God wants to hear from you is, “Please forgive me Lord!”

You became a part of God’s family when you put your faith in Jesus. That cannot be undone. You will always be God’s son or daughter, God’s child. But if you are a disobedient child, that causes problems within the relationship. You are still God’s child, but the relationship is not good. In Paul’s language, you have “grieved the Holy Spirit of God” (see Ephesians 4:30).

All the spiritual blessings of the Christian life flow through a healthy relationship with God. If there is some disobedience toward God in your life right now, something he is bringing to your mind even as you read this, then talk to God about it immediately. Do not let this quiet time end without asking God’s forgiveness (not for salvation, but for your existing relationship with him).

God doesn’t want you to pray about other things as if this disobedience does not exist. He doesn’t want you to just go through the motions of Christian activities. He wants a healthy loving daily walk with you that is full of his power and presence!

Don’t live through the misery of distance in your walk with God. Whatever it takes, make things right with him now.
