Colossians 1:9-12

For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

Learn how to pray for the people you care about!

The heart of Paul’s prayer is that they would “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord.” That is, that they would live in a way that honors God. He prayed that they would have a spiritual understanding of God’s will for them and that they would live lives that pleased God in everything.

He prayed that they would be fruitful in their ministry to others and that they would increase in their real, personal knowledge of God.

Wouldn’t you love it if someone was praying these things for you! Maybe your spiritual life is the fruit of the faithful prayers of your parents or your grandparents. God wants you to learn to give the gift of prayer to those you care about.
