1 Thessalonians 5:17-19

Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not quench the Spirit.

Pray without ceasing!

There was a place in our Lord Jesus’ life that was very precious to Him—the place of prayer. It was here that He met with His Father. He not only spoke to His Father, He also listened. When you look at Jesus’ prayers they imply a never ceasing flow of communication between Him and God the Father. When He prays out loud, He simply says, “Father…” and then continues talking as if He is just continuing out loud a conversation that was already going on in private.

The Apostle Paul learned this constant flow of prayer between Him and God too; and he wants us to know it as well. “Pray without ceasing,” he says, and this is God’s challenge to us today as we search for His will in our lives. The place where you will hear from God is that place of constant prayer.

Work at it all day today. Try to check, in your little in-between times, whether you are interacting with God. If you are looking for His leading in some area of your life, keep that issue in your thoughts and ask God to interact with you about it, and to direct your thoughts.
