Matthew 6:9-15

Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.’

For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.

You are not right with God until you get right with the people you have not yet forgiven!

Again Jesus comes back to this theme that God expects you to give people the same kind of grace as He has given you. Did you deserve forgiveness from God? Maybe there is someone in your life who does not deserve to be forgiven for the way they have treated you.

God wants you to forgive them and, where possible, to tell them that and try to make things right with them. They may not accept your forgiveness and you cannot control that. But forgiveness will free your heart. And, more importantly, God will be pleased that you have seen the connection between His forgiving you and your forgiving others.
