1 Corinthians 15:3-4

For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.

Jesus is alive!

The good news of the gospel doesn’t end with Jesus taking the judgment we deserve when He went to the cross. That is only the first of two huge truths that make up the gospel. The second huge truth is that God the Father raised Jesus from the dead. He is alive today.

It’s easy to think that the gospel is just about forgiveness, which is what Jesus accomplished at the cross. But today God is reminding us that the gospel doesn’t end with forgiveness; it is also about transformation! Yes, God wants to save you from judgment through Jesus’ death. But He also wants to revolutionize your life by Jesus’ life in you!

Too many believers only live out half of the truth of the gospel. They joyfully receive God’s forgiveness, but then they keep on trying to live on their own strength, rather than inviting Jesus to live His life in and through them.

Jesus is saying to us today, “I’m alive and waiting to bring new life into your life. Stop resisting Me and allow Me to change you.” Will you let him?
