September 22, 2022 – Are You Motivated to Endure?
Sermon: 1729 – Eternal Security: A Scriptural Defense
Pray Over This
“Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”
Ponder This
Someone might put today’s verse before you and say, “Don’t you see it? For you to be saved, you have to endure to the end.” It’s amazing how people get things 180 degrees out of focus. God teaches here that for you to endure to the end, you have to be saved. That’s all He’s saying. Do you want to know who’s saved? Those who endure are the ones who are saved. They’re not saved because they endure—they endure because they are saved.
- What about knowing Jesus motivates you to endure as a Christian?
- What tempts you to give up? How is the motivation of Christ better?
Practice This
Journal today about the things that tempt you to give up following Jesus. Pray over these things, thanking God for His secure salvation. Ask Him to give you renewed motivation for endurance in the finished work of Jesus.
