Do You Want to Grow Your Faith? - Love Worth Finding - August 10

By focusing on Jesus and not dwelling on problems, believers can experience a growth in faith, as demonstrated by the walls of Jericho falling down after being encircled for seven days. By shifting their attention from challenges to the Lord, individuals can develop habits that foster spiritual growth and strengthen their relationship with Christ.

Pray Over This

“By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days.”

Ponder This

Many people are problem conscious. All they see is the problem. They see Jericho. Many of us need to take our eyes off Jericho and put them on Jesus. Here is the way of faith. Don’t dwell on your problems, dwell on your Lord. Be looking to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith. Catch a vision of Him. Worship Him. Bow before Him and you'll find your faith growing. Learn to glance at your problems and to gaze at your Lord. Keep your eyes on Him. Don’t go around being negative or with a problem complex. Go around with your eyes, your hopes, and your affections fastened upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Set your affections on things above. Put your eyes upon the Lord and your faith will begin to grow.

  • Are you more prone to focus on your problems or on your Lord?
  • What habits can you develop to focus more on Jesus than on your problems?

Practice This

Take action today. Begin practicing some of the habits you identified to help you focus more on Jesus than on your problems.
